I installed this gate for my 12 month old child. Within 24 hours of installation, he had already figured out how to pop the thing open and get it to retract, which it does with rapid speed. I loved the space-saving nature of it, but it's completely unsafe, if an infant can open it so easily. Thankfully I did not install it near stairs. This may be great for dogs, but not for thinking humans. And the company would not allow me to return it and receive a refund.
